PSHE - Personal, Social & Health Education.

We are using new materials to assist us in the teaching of PSHE at Cockington Primary. The resource is called Inspiring Equality in Education, and is supported by the Department for Education.

The lessons will be delivered as part of the normal PSHE curriculum.

For example, part of this PSHE Curriculum in KS1 will include similarities and differences with regard to gender stereotypes (boys always play with trucks and cars, and girls always dress as princesses and play with dolls).

In KS2 we will continue this work in more detail.

You can view some example lesson plans below, and follow links to other key websites with further information.

The other resource is Jigsaw PSHE, which brings together Personal, Social, Health and Economic education, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development in a lesson-a-week programme. It is designed as a whole school approach, providing a comprehensive scheme of learning for Foundation Stage to Year 6. It is a whole-school philosophy with children at its heart.

If you have any questions with regard to these new PSHE curriculum materials, please contact Mr Sharman or Mrs Washington.
